On 30 March 2015, a motivational meeting with the Roma Centre for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights and with the Association for creative development of children and youth “Vivak” was held, in the framework of the project “Civil Society for Accountable Governance”.
In front of the CSO Roma Centre for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights president Cedo Todorovic participated at the meeting while president Natasa Stankovic participated in front of the CSO Vivak.
At the meeting, project coordinator for Brod-Posavina County presented the project "Civil Society for Accountable Governance" and its activities in detail, particularly those related to the five days training with the EU experts at the end of May which will aim to strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations, local governments and public institutions, as well as topics that will be covered during the interactive training.
An importance of participation in education in order to enhance their capacity for independent monitoring and analysis of policies relating to good governance and anti-discrimination were emphasized to them, and it was also pointed out that local platforms that will strengthen cross-sector partnership at the level of our County will be established at the training.
Furthermore, with the president of the Roma Centre for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights, we discussed the need for adoption of local action plan which will include measures aimed at achieving the objectives defined in the National Strategy for Roma Inclusion for the period 2013-2020, due to the number of members of the Roma minority who live in the city Slavonski Brod and difficulties they face in their daily lives during the realization and protection of their fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitutional Law on National Minorities.
With the President of Vivak, we discussed the dynamics of implementation of the Youth Council’s Program for the year 2015 in Slavonski Brod which was brought in accordance with the National Programme for youth for the period from 2014 to 2017. We discussed the named program, which would be subject of independent monitoring in regards to its principles of activities, the final beneficiaries, work guidelines and basic actions required to achieve them.
