On 29 September 2016, a preparatory meeting for the development of the Action Plan for Roma Inclusion in Brod-Posavina County was held. The meeting, which was held in the premises of the Association of Blind Persons in Slavonski Brod, was attended by representatives of local and regional governments, institutions, CSOs and the Council of the Roma national minority from the City and the County.
Moderators of the meeting, professor Lauc and professor Zima, explained the meaning and importance of drafting the Action Plan for Roma as well as the need for active involvement of present participants in its development. Representatives of local and regional authorities, institutions, CSOs and the Council presented opinions and views on the measures and areas that should be incorporated into the future action plan. Participants also agreed that the measures and actions in the future Action Plan should be realistic and achievable to ensure better integration of the Roma minority in society. During the meeting, members of the Working Group were selected to participate in the drafting of the Action Plan and it was agreed that all participants should send the data they have for their area, which relate to the work with the Roma population, for the initial analysis of the situation.
Preparatory meeting for the development of the Action Plan was organized by ILC in collaboration with partners in the project - HILS from Osijek, Brod-Posavina County and Network of Roma CSOs in Croatia withinthe project "Legal inclusion and sustainable integration of Roma in Croatia", which is financed by the European Union under the IPA 2012 "Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations to ensure the effective implementation of EU standards in the realization of human rights" and co-financed by the Office for Cooperation with CSOs.
