Center for Peace, Non-violence and Human Rights from Osijek in partnership with Information Legal Center (ILC) from Slavonski Brod, Serbian Democratic Forum (SDF), PAX from Utrecht (Netherlands) and the Hague Academy for Local Governance (Netherlands), are organizing a training named "Monitoring of the Policies Related to Good Governance and Anti-discrimination", which is an integral part of the two-year project “Civil Society for Accountable Governance”. The project is financed from IPA 2011 „Strengthening Support to Civil Society Organizations for Increasing Transparency and Good Governance Public Administration in Croatia“.
The training sessions will be held at the Hotel Panorama in Zagreb in the five-day period from 25-29 May 2015,and conducted by our Netherlands partners PAX and The Hague Academy for Local Governance.
The aim of this training is to strengthen the capacity of local civil society organizations (CSOs) established to promote, exercise and protect the rights and interests of vulnerable groups and human rights (minorities, Roma, sex, gender, disabled, youth) for monitoring and reporting on the implementation of policies related to good governance and anti-discrimination, and to strengthen cross-sector partnership by establishing a local expert platform of CSOs , local government and public institutions in order to strengthen the implementation of the principles of good governance and anti-discrimination at the local level.
Through interactive presentations and group sessions the following activities will be elaborated on the training:
• Institutional and legal framework of anti-discrimination in Croatia;
• International standards of good governance and anti-discrimination;
• The importance of monitoring in combating discrimination and promoting good governance;
• Methods of monitoring indicators and monitoring form;
• The establishment of intersectoral local professional platforms, roles and responsibilities
