On 3 December 2014 Information Legal Center representatives attended the ceremony of annual Volunteer Awards under the name "Making the Invisible Visible". The ceremonial award of that volunteer’s award was organized for the ninth year by the Volunteer Centre Osijek (VCO) and it was held in the Children's Theatre in Osijek.
The awards were presented on the occasion of International Volunteer Day, established by the United Nations on 05 December 1985. Thereafter, the governments, the UN and the civil society organizations implement individual and joint actions with the aim of celebrating this day.
Awards were given to individuals and organizations whose work has shown the best examples of volunteering in the community. This year were assigned three awards in the category of the volunteering’ engagement of individual and one joint award in the same category, four awards for the example of good practice of volunteers’ inclusion, one award for the contribution of the business sector to volunteering development and three awards for the school volunteering.
The rewards have been handed to the awarded by Vladimir Ham, the Deputy Mayor of the City of Osijek, Vladimir Sisljagic, Mayor of Osijek-Baranja County, and VCO representatives.
This year, special certificates of appreciation were given to four individuals for the contribution to the development of the Roma community. It is worth mentioning that two of them are from Slavonski Brod; an IPC Roma assistant Cedo Todorovic and Djef Radic.
