On 04 April 2016. the second of eight workshops for Roma associations from the City of Slavonski Brod was held in community building Josip Rimac.
The theme of the workshop was "The management of association " and was attended by 11 members of the most active Roma organizations.
During the workshop, participants were informed about the concept of good governance and management of the association as well as the desirable characteristics of managers. The structure of decision-making within the organization was clarified, as well as leadership styles and the difficulties and challenges that arise within organizations. Since most of the Roma associations do not have enough capacity – human and material that are necessary for project implementation, the participants were advised to first try to gain experience through partnerships with other experienced organizations. As partners in individual projects, they would acquire knowledge that would be useful in the future when reporting on the projects independently. During the workshop, participants were informed about the importance of human resource management within the organization, with an emphasis on the special care towards volunteers.
All participants expressed their satisfaction with the organization of education that will help them in further work and development of their association.
The workshop for Roma associations from the City of Slavonski Brod was organized by IPC in collaboration with partners in the project - HILS from Osijek, Brod – Posavina County and the Network of Roma associations in Croatia through the "Legal inclusion and sustainable integration of Roma in Croatia", which is financed by the European Union from IPA 2012 and co-financed by the Office for Cooperation with CSOs.
