On 11 March 2016 ILC held the first workshop for Roma associations from the City of Slavonski Brod in the community building “Josip Rimac”.
The topic of the workshop was "The association management in accordance with the Associations Act" and was attended by 11 members from seven most active Roma organizations. The purpose of the workshop was to remind participants of the importance and role of NGOs in society, to inform the attendants about associations' way of business as well as the obligations that should be done in accordance with the new law.
During the workshop, participants were informed with the obligations each association, that is obligatory for double – entry book – keeping, has to accomplish in the future. All participants were very active during the workshop and expressed their satisfaction with the maintenance of educational workshops that will help them in their future work and development of their organizations. The present members of associations have mentioned the difficulties encountered when carrying out activities, which are usually related to the provision of financial resources.
It was organised within the project "Legal inclusion and sustainable integration of Roma in Croatia", which is financed by the European Union from the program IPA 2012 "Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations to ensure the effective implementation of EU standards in the realization of human rights" and co-financed by the Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs.
